Achieving school-family collaboration for children with emotional or behavioral disorders
editKnowledge of the experiences of families who have children with emotional and behavior difficulties within the school system is critical to understanding where services and supports are needed. This chapter looks at the extent to which children with emotional and behavior difficulties are currently provided services within the U.S. public school system; barriers to parent involvement; problems that parents face in negotiating work and family life responsibilities; the need for early identification and early intervention for children with emotional and behavior difficulties; the current state of affairs with school-based mental health serv
