edit

By bhadmin February 2, 2021

Guided by the stress process model (Pearlin, Mullan, Semple, and Skaff, 1990) and using one-on-one semi-structured interviews, this study provides 1) descriptive data of HD young carers and their caregiving experience, 2) an investigation of the indirect role of social support in the potential negative effects of caregiving on children and youth ages ten to twenty who provide care to a parent with HD (referred to below as “young carers”), and 3) an identification of specific support needs of young carers.
